As autumn draws us indoors, it’s the perfect time to enliven any space with brand-new finds. From couture-inspired floorcoverings to daybeds crafted from terra cotta, here are some highlights from the recent round of releases.
The Rug Company called on Guo Pei to create the Opulent Nature series. Drawing from the couturier’s Chinese heritage, the fashion-forward collection features seven rugs and two cushions adorned in imaginative—and, in some cases, centuries-old—motifs, including the Qinghua porcelain–esque Splendour and the Rihanna 2015 Met Gala dress–inspired Empress Gold.
Seema Krish debuted a fanciful fall collection called Namma Bangalore. An homage to the Indian city where the brand’s artisanal textiles are made, the line offers 20 delicately patterned designs ranging from the embroidered Lalbagh to the woodblock-printed Kolam and the scalloped-and-dotted Nandi.
Moe’s Home Collection teamed up with Japanese furniture designer Mitz Takahashi for a super chic collaboration. The assortment features three minimalist designs made of all-natural hardwoods, including the tubular Punyo Punyo accent table and modern milking-stool-inspired Lund.
Colony unveiled Edition 4 by Studio Paolo Ferrari. On display through the end of the month at the design co-op’s New York gallery, the collection spans 16 exuberant designs dressed in eye-catching details, such as a curvilinear lounge chair with a flowing tassel-lined back and a hand-sculpted hardwood side table with a contrasting Carrara marble base.
Cosentino premiered its first large-format stucco material, Dekton Kraftizen. Engineered to look and feel like authentic Venetian plaster, the carbon-neutral surface design is available in five earthy colorways—including terra-cotta-hued Umber and matte gray Argentium—and can be applied to everything from floors to walls to furniture, cabinetry and exterior facades.
Chasing Paper tapped Sally King McBride for its latest collaboration. The collection boasts nine whimsical wallpaper patterns—available in both traditional and peel-and-stick styles—based on the New York artist’s signature watercolor illustrations, such as the tulip-filled Garden Pendant and our current crush, the butterfly- and seashell-clad Collectors.
Milanese architect Annarita Aversa released a limited-edition collection of seating and vases named Proporzione Mediterranea. Inspired by the architecture of the Amalfi Coast, the five-piece selection—currently on exhibit at the Giustini / Stagetti gallery in Rome—showcases an array of raw materials and artfully executed motifs, including a crackle-finished ceramic sofa and an arched terra cotta daybed with an iron and burnished brass frame.
SoCal design firm Noelle Interiors launched its coastal-style Signature furniture line. A love letter to the Australian shoreline, the series includes eight customizable pieces punctuated by sumptuous materials and sculptural silhouettes, such as the terrazzo-slab-topped Carly credenza, the arc-shaped Cheeky Kiss cocktail table and the Little Cove sofa, a gently rounded stunner with bleached ashwood arms that double as side tables.
Sunbrella introduced 17 fresh fabric designs into its bestselling Shade Collection. Composed of breathable, water- and fade-resistant acrylic fibers, additions include the boldly banded Marco, the textural Hogan and the two-toned Paxton.
