The following is a press release from the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass:

SAN GORGONIO PASS AREA, CA — Southern California Edison has awarded the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass (BGCSGP) with a $5,000 grant to support their Creators STEAM program. Through the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) program, youth will participate in a curriculum designed to help them develop an interest in the world of STEAM and to increase their knowledge of STEAM opportunities and careers.

The Creators program is a fun, hands-on program that allows youth to participate in projects that are interesting and engaging. In previous Creators sessions, youth have learned how to print in 3D, engineered marble roller coasters, built rockets, constructed walking robots, configured circuit boards, participated in forensic courses, conducted DNA staining, built weight-bearing bridges, and explored the earth's surface through hands-on model projects.

“We are so grateful for our community partner, Southern California Edison. Every day, technology is changing and robust STEM education like our Creators program is becoming increasingly important. This grant will help to create the next generation of critical thinkers, problem solvers, and innovators” said Amy Herr, CEO.
