STONE RIDGE, N.Y. — There were no injuries on Monday, Oct. 10, when a spark ignited a detached garage on Mickle Drive, Marbletown Supervisor Rich Parete said Thursday.

The supervisor said an elderly man was starting a van in the garage at his Mickle Drive residence at about 3 p.m. when it accidentally caught fire.

The man and his wife were able to escape uninjured from the blaze, Parete said, and the adjacent house on the property did not burn.

Additional information was not immediately available.
