This whimsical print has the power to wake up any space.
Marble isn't a new home trend. In fact, it was used in architecture all the way back in ancient Egyptian and Mesopotamian cultures. But anyone who's embraced it also knows it's heavy and pricy to work with, which is why marble wallpaper is all the rage at the moment.
Think about it: It's way less of a commitment, but still gives you that luxury vibe you're looking for in your space. The papers we've seen range in color and pattern, but each one is just as chic and swirly as the last, including the paper we spotted in our 2017 Kitchen of the Year. Seriously, you can't go wrong, and here's proof.

This New York City-based bedroom boasts a statement wall behind the bed, which features paper from Calico Wallpaper. Since this is a space the homeowners want to unwind in, they opted for muted blue and purple colors, as well as soft, versus harsh, lines in the marble print.

Our 2017 Kitchen of the Year in San Francisco, which was designed by Jon de la Cruz, features a grey and white blend, which helps balance out the bold black and white palette and furnishings.

This treatment isn't only reserved for muted or neutral colors. This young girl's room becomes a vibrant dream when hot pink and rose gold marble hits the walls. In fact, it feels more like a mural (which is very on trend) than a piece of wallpaper.
Love this dreamy color palette. Inspiration is always moments away. #bysarahhayleyowen #inspiration #colorpalette #interiordesign #webdesign #pink #marblewalls

For smaller spaces, just a few streaks of subdued pink (millennial pink, if you will) creates a statement, without overwhelming the room. And this arm chair helps highlight the subtle color, without overpowering it.

If you really want to take a risk, green and white marble is the way to go. It has more of a retro vibe versus modern, like most of the other papers we've seen. When paired with a graphic floor, it feels like a new age diner.

Another space marble paper works well is in bathrooms. Since many already feature this stone on the vanity or in the shower, it's a natural place to find this pattern. Plus, there's nothing we love more than a truly wild, statement-making bathroom in an otherwise traditional home.

And if you want to take your least favorite wall and turn it into your favorite (like this homeowner did), gold marble is the way to do it. When used on one wall, it adds glitz and glamour that doesn't feel overdone.
